Design objectives

Woodlands Hospital was envisioned as more than a healthcare facility. Guided by six foundational principles, the development was designed to deliver person-centred care, create a healing environment, support sustainable and future-ready operations and promote healthier communities through an integrated "Campus of Care" concept

The Six Foundational Principles

Person-Centred Care

Services and facilities are designed around patients' needs, ensuring a seamless healthcare journey with integrated acute, community, outpatient and long-term care.

Healing Environment

A nature-inspired healthcare campus that integrates therapeutic landscapes, daylight and restorative spaces to support recovery, comfort and well-being.

Sustainability

The "Park in Campus" concept promotes environmental sustainability through biophilic design, resource-efficient systems and the integration of nature into everyday healthcare experiences.

Future-Proofing

Flexible planning, adaptable healthcare spaces and smart infrastructure enable the campus to respond to evolving healthcare demands and future operational needs.

Engaging Community

Community spaces such as the Event Plaza, Healing Garden and public amenities foster social interaction, inclusiveness and stronger connections with the surrounding neighbourhood.

Activating & Health Promoting

The campus encourages active lifestyles and preventive healthcare through therapeutic gardens, walking routes, active living staircases and wellness-focused environments.
