The Event Plaza: A Canvas of Vibrant Community
During the site visit, it was observed that Woodlands Hospital has integrated extensive therapeutic landscape features throughout the campus to support the physical and psychological well-being of patients, visitors, and staff. One notable feature is the Amphitheatre, where a cascading water feature creates a calming environment through the combination of flowing water, surrounding greenery and open communal spaces.
The integration of natural elements provides a multi-sensory healing experience that extends beyond visual aesthetics. The soothing sound of water and lush planting contribute to a restorative environment, allowing users to take a break from the clinical setting and experience moments of relaxation and reflection. From a TBPD perspective, this demonstrates how biophilic design can enhance occupant comfort and support overall well-being within a healthcare environment.
